The mantilla (veil) was also black underneath and embroidered with hand-made lace on top. Of course, now many things have changed. And it concerns not only colors but also other items of attire.

Spanish wedding dress design

Design of a classical Spanish-inspired wedding gown is much the same as the one of usual wedding dresses. However, there are some peculiarities. For instance, a lower part of the skirt holds numerous frills, just like a Flamenco skirt does. A traditional wedding dress for a Spaniard has full-length sleeves with ruffles at the hem of the sleeve.  A common fabric for producing a bridal gown is quite trivial. It may be chiffon, silk, satin, taffeta or organza.

One more necessary attribute for traditional Spanish style wedding dresses is a black lace mantilla (veil). If black does not match with the color of a wedding gown, it is okay to pick a white veil with a black lacy overlay. Also, a dress may be embellished with ruffles, crystals, germs depending on individual preferences of the bride.

Spanish wedding dress color

The best choice for a Spanish bride is a black dress. According to Spanish traditions, black reveals the character of a bride. However, it is acceptable to choose an alternative color like white, pinkish or red.

Bridal hand bouquet

Any Spanish bride is supposed to carry a hand bouquet from orange blossoms that symbolizes fertility and accomplishment. Besides that, she has to behave appropriately, i.e. to be elegant, proud and confident at once.  So, consider all these little things to celebrate your ideal day!
